Liverpool Victoria Confirms Choice of ‘ABC Insurance' as its Broker Market Brand and Announces Start of Recruitment Drive
Liverpool Victoria has announced that ABC Insurance will be the brand it deploys to spearhead its entry into the broker market. ABC will be headed by Phil Bunker, former Managing Director of NIG, and will distribute a wide range of personal and commercial lines products.
At the same time as confirming its broker market brand, Liverpool Victoria is also announcing a number of key appointments at ABC.
John Robson has been appointed Head of Business Development. John brings a wealth of market knowledge and experience having spent 29 years with NIG, latterly as Head of Business Development, Personal Lines.
ABC will be developing a UK wide branch operation and has appointed Mick Davis and John Sadler as Branch Managers to run their first two regional offices.
Mick Davis will be Branch Manager for the Yorkshire region. Until recently Mick managed NIG’s Leeds branch office and was primarily responsible for developing their commercial insurance account in this area.
John Sadler will be Branch Manager for the South East, based in Croydon. John has previously held senior underwriting positions with Sun Alliance, NIG and CU Bonus and most recently worked at Lloyds broker, Senior Wright.
Richard Ellis joins ABC as Commercial Pricing Manager from Royal & Sun Alliance. Richard spent 19 years with Royal & Sun Alliance most recently as Pricing Manager within Commercial Head Office Underwriting.
ABC has also secured the services of Kevin Gill to assist Phil Bunker in the development of the new business. Kevin has over 20 years’ experience in the insurance market with Axa, Norwich Union, Independent and most recently as General Manager and Head of Group Marketing at Cox Insurance.
Bunker comments “Strong broker relationships will be core to ABC’s business development strategy and we are recruiting a high quality team who know the broker market well and who already have long established relationships in place. I am delighted to welcome the new members of the team on board and I look forward to announcing further additions to the team in the New Year.”
Liverpool Victoria recently announced its plan to become a top five general insurer over the next five years, with a £150 million investment plan. This follows the acquisition in September of a new general insurance management team, whose previous experience spans top roles at Churchill, Direct Line and RBS Insurance.
